Xenogears, Jesiah/Raquel, it looks just like the cover of a romance novel (take 2)
The roof is leaking and the porch floorboards have fallen in with the mud and Billy is sleeping off a fever in the next room. But for a few precious minutes it doesn't matter.
The world eclipses into the slice of heat between them, skin slick with sweat and sex. His hands, her hips; her lips, his shoulders. Her hair trailing over his belly and her nails digging into his thighs. His not-quite-quiet noises when she guides him inside. She keeps her silence, conscientious-- but he watches her toes curl and he knows he's still got it.
It's nearly dawn and he's making her coffee while she tucks Billy back in with his medicine. She goes to stand on the porch (the good half) to watch the tide come in.
There's a wisp of hair that's come untucked from behind her ear, and her eyes are dark with weariness. She's wearing a shirt of his, only half-buttoned, and he can see the curves of her silhouetted beneath. Not for the first time, he thinks she's the most beautiful thing he's ever seen.
He smiles down at the coffeecup he holds; his hands still smell of her.
He walks through the door to stand beside her as the sun comes up.
