Final Fantasy Dissidia, Gabranth/Warrior of Light, I too had faith
Gabranth’s armour is closed, all encompassing, but it remains the same size as he must have been when he was fitted for the armour. His helm shows nothing of his face, but this close the Warrior can hear the sounds of heavy breathing, and so is sure that is underneath that armour is a man, however burdened.
“Why are you so determined to leave this place? What good will it do?” he asks.
The Warrior breathes. “I wish to rejoin my companions,” he says. “If we are able to put all our strengths together, we may be able to bring an end to this conflict.”
“An end to the warring of the gods? Would that such a thing was possible!” Gabranth lets go, and the Warrior reaches out to him.
“What is it you fear so much, to not desire to leave this place for yourself?” he asks softly.
Gabranth’s breath rattles in his armour, and the Warrior puts his hands on the clasps of Gabranth’s armour. “You will not come apart,” he assures him.
“Such faith,” Gabranth says, words dry as a desert wind. But he lets the Warrior help him out of his armour, and holds tight as the Warrior slips fingers in to seek out the humanity he knows must lie there.
