GOD I fucking HATE Valentine's Day. This much pink should NOT EXIST. This holiday sucks ALMOST AS MUCH AS THE FACT THAT MY BOOKCLUB IS DOING ON THE ROAD (AKA THE MOST BORING BOOK IN PUBLICATION) THIS MONTH. WHY ME!!!!!

[ooc note: as per the pcal, apollonia has been hit by hatred manipulation powers! SORRY IN ADVANCE]

Sometimes I wish at least one of my sisters was powered. Any of them would make kickass partners-in-heroism.

[.........] I mean. Do you want me to be flirting with you?

I have no doubt, and I get it. My brother is powered and having someone to grow up with who understands that is [...] easier, in some ways. Though I'm sure you and your sisters wouldn't need powers to be an impressive force.

[...] If I said yes, does that make me come off as a lech trying to pick up a younger woman or something?

You're right about that. My sister Honorina can throw croquet mallets with surprising accuracy, which I think is a power in and of itself.

adlfkkagamg omg I would never call you a lech, and honestly I feel like I'm the one doing the picking up. Or trying to.

One of the agencies should sign her immediately. I don't know anyone who'd want to be on the receiving end of that.

My brother and sister constantly make fun of me for how oblivious I am when it comes to women. I promise it's not personal.

Prestige would fit her personality. You think I'm a brat? She makes me look low-maintenance.

I'm not taking it personally. But I am flirting with you, and if you ever want to do anything about that... well.

Why would I think you're a brat? I don't know if you've noticed, but being dramatic is something of a McIntyre family trait. That, and being stubborn. And a little reckless.

Well.

That is what I said.

Come visit PI headquarters sometime and I'll introduce you.

We certainly could do something about it.

What would you like to do about it, then?

My sister Cat is close in age to you, I could see you two getting along. And with my brother. He's the oldest.

Well, I'm prepared to say yes for when you want to ask me out. Since you were the one trying to pick me up, after all.

Hmm. Interesting. I'll keep that in mind.

Loud. Impulsive. Good-hearted. Protective. Very thick-headed.

Please do.

I kind of wish I had a brother. Four sisters can be a bit much to deal with.

Four siblings of any kind would be a lot, I imagine.

I always looked up to him a lot, growing up. I used to be scrawny and small, believe it or not. And he always looked out for me.

It was, but I cherish my relationships with my sisters more than anything. Plus I had four other wardrobes to steal from, so I'm the real winner here.

So is he like, your hero? Also, I have to be honest and say it is SO weird to think of you as being anything other than giant and well-muscled.

It sounds like you're all very close. Do all of you have fancy Latin-sounding names?

[...] Yes and no. When we were younger I would've said yes without a second thought, and I still look to him for advice now, but it's different. Our dynamic has changed, I don't need a protector so much as an equal, now. But I'm sure that's hard for him to see me as anything besides his baby brother sometimes still.

Ha, I know. I had my growth spurt around maybe 12 or 13 and started training with my powers once they showed up in addition to playing sports more competitively.

Oh boy, get ready for this. Their names are Scholastica, Faustina, Euphemia, and Honorina. We're all named after saints.

You definitely don't need a protector, but I think it's hard for older siblings to turn off that protective thing. I mean, I never really had a hero growing up. I still don't. There are people I look up to, certainly, but I've always wanted to be my own hero.

Oh my God, finally someone who knows what a sport even is. What did you play?

[...] I was not ready for that.

Of course, and I don't blame him for having a hard time of getting out of the mindset of needing to protect. [...] I like that about you, Apollonia.

Rugby and football, mostly. Soccer, that is. What about you?

No one ever is. We all have nicknames, though.

Understandable. I'm pretty awesome.

I don't think I've ever seen a rugby match. As for me, I'm a dancer. Ballet, contemporary, ballroom. Competitive ballroom, even. Some people don't think dancing is a sport, and those people are idiots who have never done pointe work.

What are they?

It's a good mindset to have.

Los Angeles has a rugby club if you'd like to go sometime. Dancing is very much a sport, especially ballet. I don't think I can bend my body in half as many ways as them.

In order: Scully, Hen (a derivative of her middle name, Hendrix), Effie, and Rina. Mine was Apple, but I'm trying to distance myself from it because I just want to be Apollonia. Besides, I have enough unflattering nicknames thanks to our fellow heroes thinking they're super funny. It's getting hard to keep track.

I do like broadening my horizons... You're telling me! Ballet is wicked hard on the body which is why I only dance it anymore if I'm teaching a class.

Everyone's a comedian when they bring out their least funny jokes. Do your sisters like their nicknames? Scully reminds me of the X-Files.

Okay, we'll put rugby on the list, then. I've seen Bellamy perform before and it's very precise. I give dancers a lot of credit. Especially because I'm not graceful at all.

You'd think the novelty of calling me "Pony" would wear off sooner rather than later. They do, for the most part. Scully got so upset when she finally discovered the X-Files. She thought she was so original.

It's not your fault you don't have a dancer's build.
