"Oh, yes, dinner," Ethan said dryly. He forced himself to stop rubbing his head, because it wasn't helping anyway, and he let his fingers drop to the island's surface. "That incredible, sumptuous meal that I can barely stand to think about now, considerin' what we have to choose from today." He laughed, a short bark that didn't contain much amusement. "I'm sounding a little spoiled, there, aren't I?" It was just such a radical difference, especially the lack of caffeine.
"Pleased t'meet you, Nate," he said. It wasn't exactly a lie, although there wasn't much that was honestly pleasing him today. "Nah, I just have a strong need for coffee in the mornings, and I didn't get any. Gives you a killer headache."
