"I sincerely hope not," Ethan said dryly. "That'd only make an already bad day worse." He started in rubbing his temples again, trying to calm himself. This wasn't the end of the world, nor was it a disaster of any sort. A lack of caffeine wasn't going to kill anyone, although he'd have to remind himself of his little speech to himself if he had nightmares tonight. Finally he stopped, running his fingers through his hair and then reaching for his glass of water.
"There's nothin' wrong with it," he added belatedly, although the kid had started in on it anyway, so evidently he wasn't too concerned. "I'm just not that hungry. Not crazy about wheat bread. I'm Ethan, by the way." He was also remembering his manners. "Don't think we've met."
