Who: Bryce, Emily, Delaney, and Spencer
Where: Table Number 1!
When: 8:15pm
Bryce wasn't really a fan of massive get togethers like this one, but he had promised Emily that he would go, and that they'd arrive together. At least that meant that he was going to have someone to talk to while he was there. Otherwise, he would have likely avoided it altogether or have shown up and stayed in a corner somewhere. He didn't want to be all that social. However, a promise is a promise, so at 7:30 he found himself undressed and staring at the clothes in his closet. Things that had happened the day before had rattled the boxer just a little bit. A brave face was needed, though, as he put on a polo and some semi-tight jeans. There wasn't much else he could do except that and put it out of his mind. With that bit of thought, he grabbed his cigarettes and shoved them into a pocket in case he needed to escape and smoke to calm down.
Within moments he was at Emily's door, picking her up and leaving for the party together. It was going to be weird showing up with someone, especially with how they were walking with their arms linked at Emily's insistence. It was awkward for him to be walking like that, though part of that was the height difference and that he felt like if his arm twitched he would snap her in half. It didn't take long until they were in front of the doors. Smiling at Emily he said, "Well, I guess we should head on in, then." He was nervous, something that should be rather apparent even as they walked into the room. He noted the name tags on the table and said, "Time to find out where we sit."
He would have hated to have to sit with a bunch of people he didn't know, and he'd also feel bad if he ended up abandoning Emily because of the assigned seats. It took very little time to find their spots which, thankfully, were at the same table together. It was empty at the moment, and out of curiosity, he decided to see who else was sitting with them. Delaney? A flash of a memory of red hair passed through his mind as he tried to figure out if he knew her. They'd talked once or twice, but nothing too deep that he could remember. Another friendly face at least. Then he saw the last name and almost booked it out of there. Spencer. He was the last person the Bryce wanted to see at the moment. The only thing that made him stay was the fact that he had promised Emily he would enjoy the dinner with her. When it looked like she was ready to sit, Bryce pulled out her chair and gestured for her to sit before he pushed her in gently. He'd been raised with manners. Then he, too sat down.
"So it looks pretty nice in here. Who would have thought that this is what they would have given us?" Small talk was not his best skill, but at the moment it was all he could handle while he tried to process the fact that he was sitting directly across from the man who was determined to prove something about Bryce. "Also, do you want to wait for the other two to sit at our table before we go eat?" Personally, he wanted to get food as soon as possible so that he wouldn't have to deal with talking too much.
