Though Miles had never seen Madison before, he assumed she was one of the two women who would be seated at their table the way she approached smiling and waving. The other possibility was that she was excessively friendly, but thus far he hadn't observed anyone he thought would walk around to every table and introduce herself to every person present.
He watched on as the redheaded woman paused in her introduction to sneeze, and then touched Avery with the same hand she'd used to cover her mouth. Miles didn't react much visibly, though the skin between his eyebrows did crease just a tad. Conventional manners weren't usually his concern, but the gesture could potentially spread the very germs she'd lifted her hand to catch, thus negating the purpose of covering her mouth in the first place.
"I'm Miles," he said, and after a beat of silence added, "and this is Avery." He knew from experience that Avery wasn't chatty in any sense of the word, and the man looked understandably perturbed at the present situation. "Good to meet someone from the fourth floor experiment."
