Avery smiled and nodded pleasantly to Miles. "Hi. Yeah, I'm fine now." He could only hope that he stayed that way. Being that cold all the time had been disconcerting, and he thought that, given enough time, it might be enough to drive a person entirely mad. He knew that he didn't want to experience it again, and that had been enough incentive to force him to come down here whether he really wanted to or not.
He'd just managed to glance up when he felt someone beside him when the woman sneezed and then put her hand on his shoulder. His body tensed immediately, both because of being unexpectedly touched and the fact that she'd touched him with the hand in which she'd covered her mouth. He sat forward a little in his chair, wanting to dislodge her without being completely rude, and luckily she moved away to sit down. His head turned in her direction as she introduced herself, but his expression was preoccupied. It made no sense at all, but he wanted to excuse himself and hurry off to the bathroom to take out one of the antibacterial wipes he had in one pocket and clean off the shoulder of his shirt. Avery managed to resist doing that, for now at least, but he wasn't happy.
