Daphne had every intention of arriving fashionably late. She liked to make an entrance, and tonight would be her first impression on a great many of her new room-mates. She had been hoping the camera feed to the ballroom would turn on once the doors were unlocked, and she was not disappointed. Daphne was just stepping into her dress when the bell rang, and moments later, the feed clicked on. "Excellent," she murmured. She arranged the folds of her dress, a tiny and cascading little number in a lovely dark lavender, and stepped into her shoes. Then she sat down to watch the first few people alive.
It appeared as though the scientists had assigned seating, which was an intriguing thought. She wondered the reasoning behind their choices, and if they were trying to send anyone in Experiment B a specific message with their choices. Mostly, she just wanted to know who she'd be assigned to. Unfortunately, she could not see the assignments from any of the ballroom feeds. Still, she had faith that the scientists would put her with someone good. They'd done well by her so far. As tables began filling up, Daphne noticed that no one was sitting with Rupert. Daphne didn't want to get her hopes up, but that certainly boded well for her. She briefly wondered if she should reconsider her wardrobe, as it might be a little too heavy for Rupert so early on. It was practically indecently short and her legs looked amazing. Daphne stood to go admire herself in her mirror and finally decided that no, changing was not a possibility. She had to show this off.
She still waited several more minutes before allowing herself to leave her room. A light spritz of perfume, and she was on her way. She took her time heading downstairs, and was pleased to see that the ballroom had filled up a little more in the time it took her to come down from the fourth floor. She helped herself to a glass of wine, and then began the search for her table. Needless to say, she did not have to go far. She spotted her name and plastered a bright smile onto her face as she headed over. "Rupert!" she greeted warmly as she approached from behind. "You're looking fit." And he really was. Someone had put in a little effort. Daphne took that as a good sign.
