"Yeah, they probably wouldn't care if I did," Lark replied. "It's probably nothing to them. But I'd still feel bad about it. Money's never come easy to me." But she appreciated the encouragement anyway, so she smiled. When she had come here, she had sort of expected a lot of people like her - people who had to work had for every penny they'd ever had, and needed this opportunity badly. Who else would want to give up a year of their life? But she didn't get that vibe. In fact, she had a feeling there were a few people here who could be considered successful. In Lark's mind, there seemed to be more people here just for the experience.
"So where are you from?" she asked. "Or does talking screw up your playing?"
