Delaney didn't want to be on TV just to be on TV. She never had. She wanted to use her talents for what they were intended, which was singing stardom. Super-stardom, if she had her way. The money was necessary to achieve that goal, and to her it was worth just about anything to get. Plus, she did feel like it'd be an interesting story for her biography one day, how she'd spent a year in a social experiment.
"It makes you wonder who they have backing them," she said, speaking of the scientists, of course. "Because they're shelling out for this house, for the furnishings for our rooms, food for a year."
Delaney grinned at him when he told her she'd have to sing. "I sing at every opportunity, believe me," she said with a giggle. "You'll be wanting me to shut up within a month, probably."
