I'm fighting through this pain
Who: Emily and Bryce
Where: hot tub in the basement
When: Day 7; early afternoon
Emily's first day in the house had been nice -- mostly because of having lunch with Ben. He was a real gentleman, and she was pretty glad that those sorts of men still existed. She was not completely sure if she could fully trust him, but the fact that she wanted to spoke volumes. The poison that Charlie had infused in her life made it so that trusting people was so, so hard. But really, how hard could it be to simply get to know people for a year? It was in Emily's nature to seek people out, so the fact that she had wandered down to the basement by herself was odd. She'd been excited when she saw the pool, but the best part had been the sauna and hot tub that were also downstairs -- at least to her. With a quick look around, she made sure that no one else was down there where she wanted to go before she ran back up to her room to get dressed. It wasn't so much that she wanted to be alone, it would just be nice to get the chance to relax after the long journey. She still felt somewhat groggy from whatever it was they'd given her in order to get her here, and another hearty breakfast and lunch was only going to carry her over so far. No, what Emily wanted was the hot tub.
Once she'd gotten changed into something a little better suited to being submerged, Emily had wasted no time whatsoever in flip-flopping her way back down to the basement. Moving down to where it was housed behind a privacy screen, she turned the tub on, fiddling with the temperature settling so it was set to "boil a lobster" temperature. While the bubbles started, she set her towel on a nearby chair, untying the wrap she'd grabbed for modesty's sake. Once it looked like the tub was ready, she stepped in without hesitation, a hiss of air coming out of her mouth at the intense heat. The exposed skin that was not currently submerged broke out in goosebumps as she moved over to the side of the tub where she could keep an eye on the rest of the room. Call it a little residual paranoia, but Emily was not really in the mood to be startled if someone came to join her. Once she was settled on the submerged little ledge, she leaned her head back and sighed, wriggling so that her entire body from the neck down was under the hot, bubbling water. This? Oh yes, this was the way to relax.
