In the whole of Lina's life, not a single person had ever thought of Lina as touchy-feely. It was a fact, and if anyone even suggested it to her she'd laugh. She could go weeks at a time without touching another person past friendly punches at the garage when she was joking around at work, and she was perfectly okay with that.
Of course, where she was from was sort of a loaded question. "Military brat, we moved around a lot. The short answer would be Detroit, I guess. That's where I settled when I was a teenager." And she was using the term 'settled' extremely generously. She could have moved when she hit eighteen, but she'd just never seen the point. One location wasn't going to be any better than another. In truth, Detroit probably suited her pretty well. It was volatile, but so was she. She liked her job and the people she worked with well enough, and no one had ever broken in to her crappy apartment and tried to kill her. That was practically upper class in a city like that.
