hello mr. floor, fancy meeting you down here!
Who: Lizzie and Skittles
Where: Skittles' Room
When: 11:00 AM
Lizzie hadn't been sure what to expect when she took off her blindfold. She had known that she would get a room of her own, but she had been under the impression that they would resemble hotel rooms -- nuetral colors, bland decoration -- nothing extraordinary as far as appearance was concerned. It had been hard for her to concentrate on the message the telephone was giving her as her eyes danced around the room that looked as though it had been specially designed for her. Never before in her life had she imagined so many different shades of pink put together in a single room, nor did she realize how much she would love it. On her large canopy bed were an assortment of pillows and stuffed animals of different kinds and sizes. To anyone else, it would have looked like the type of room that you would give a six-year-old; true as that may be, it was heaven to Lizzie. She spent a good thirty minutes exploring the room and the bathroom connected to it. It was simple, save for the large bathtub that Lizzie couldn't wait to have a bubble bath in once the day was over. Before heading out into the rest of the house, she stopped by the mirror to give herself a once over. Running her fingers through her hair, Lizzie scrutinized every inch of her appearance. She wanted to make the best of impressions here. This place was supposed to be her second chance to do something exciting with her life; she couldn't afford to have people disliking her while she was stuck in a house with them for a year. She decided that the first thing she would do this morning was explore the rooms on her floor. It wasn't until she attempted the door next to hers that the thought occurred to her that it could belong to another member of the experiment. She was suddenly incredibly thankful that the door had been locked. How embarrassing it would have been to barge into to someone else's room simply because she had been "curious". What rooms she did find that had public access weren't very exciting at all: a laundry room, maintenance closet, linen room, and a sitting room. The floor was extremely large, but as Lizzie rounded the corner at the other end of the floor from her room she was disappointed to find more rooms. Exactly how many people were participating? Shrugging her shoulders, she decided to walk the length of the hall to orient herself with every inch of the floor at the very least. She was looking over one of the doors on her right before turning to head back to the staircase -- only when she turned, there was suddenly a person there who hadn't been before. One foot landed on that belonging to the other person while the other twisted off its balance. Lizzie let out a yelp as she felt herself tumble down to the ground, taking out the person standing there with her. The moment she hit the ground, she was was scrambling to get up off the stranger. Great first impression Lizzie. Real winner. "I'm so incredibly sorry. Here let me help you up!" Lizzie hopped to her feet quickly -- practice in getting up off the floor after a fall had made her adept at this - and extended her hand out for the young woman that she had taken out with her clumsiness. |
