Who you're in search of:
-- House Tully - specifically The Heir or Lord Tully. ... Lord Baratheon would also be a huge help, but it's not quite as urgent.
House Tully is about to play a crucial part in either sparking off or averting a civil war. What personality you choose for the characters, what their choices are is all up to you. This is Westeros in the year 500 AL, and a lot may have changed for the Tullys in 200 years- have they maintained effective control of the Riverlands or are they secretly weakened? Has the current lord gone mad? Has Lady Tully been tossing her nieces off the tower? Are they a happy, powerful noble family content in their lives and ruling well and justly, unaware they are about to be swept up in the Game of Thrones? It's all up to you.
-- Lord Stark is the second Stark to ever be named Hand of the King. He served as Regent during the interim government when the old king was assassinated and the prince presumed dead... and it was a difficult regency to say the least.
-- Rhaeys Targaryen was his brother's Hand until the king was killed, then was forced to flee the mobs of Kings Landing who demanded his head, believing him a traitor. The young king has cleared him of wrongdoing, but the populace is less forgiving...
