Who: Tonks & Fred Weasley
What: Drinks, a convo
When: Wednesday night
Where: Murky Waters
Status: Closed/In-progress
Rating: Medium maybe?
Tonks delicately made her way through Murky Waters, carrying a single, dark pint that she held carefully. Though she should have been watching the ground, her eyes were trained on the beer, more worried about spilling it than simply tripping over something. Her goal was to put some space between her and everyone else to allow her and Fred to talk about whatever came up -- and she was especially far from the kitchen, just in case Teddy happened to be working (but if her timing was right, he'd be out doing anything else).
So of course she ran into a table, causing her to spill some of her pint with a snorty laugh. She appreciated the irony. Enjoying her humor, she cleaned up the mess with a smile and finally chose that spot. Thankfully it wasn't crowded, even if that meant less for her to take in as she gave a look around, taking her first, deep sip.
Then she began to think about Fred who must've been close - she was early, but not by much - and she found herself excited to see him. Somewhat nervous, too. Despite having no feelings beyond seeing him as a cool, funny bloke before, the past few weeks left her a bit more complicated on the subject. Suddenly they were together. Married! Perhaps not the most concrete marriage, and she didn't take it completely seriously, but part of those feelings lingered or manifested or just created some new intimacy she had yet to share with anyone else on the island. That last part was true alone; it was an experience she wouldn't be able to forget.
Inevitably, her mind went to Teddy - her son and all the things he'd said about her, her other/future marriage, the life he wished to have with them. It wasn't fair and yet she couldn't forget these words either, as well as -- her thoughts interrupted with the door and she caught a sight of bright ginger, her own hair sparking red before returning to her signature pink.
Thank Merlin she didn't wait long, at least. It'd taken much longer to wait for this once she'd returned from camping with Charlie after a couple days. She procrastinated at first, conveniently putting it off a couple more days before she went to get some ice cream and set up a day for those drinks. Now they were here and she had no idea what to expect or even what she wanted in the end. Like most everything around them, it was a bit of a mess.
