Who: Verity and Angelina
What: Hiding Out with the Owls
Where: The Owlry
When: Shortly before sunrise
Verity stood in the owlry, in the near-dark, playing with the more sociable owls.
It was cruel to keep the owls here, penned up and restless. No one had proof they could spread the virus, but no one could prove they wouldn't.
More or less hiding in your bed for a week did not do good things to a person's sense of sanity. Especially as Verity still hadn't resolved in her mind whether she had the virus or just some other lingering illness.
Verity was just deeply tired of her curtain-walls. She was tired of journals as her only communication. She was utterly, insanely tired of her own company.
And she missed sunlight. It was a risk that no one would come up here, but why would they? No one could use their owls. For one day, Verity resolved, she would spend the day up here, where she could interact with other warm, living creatures and soak in the watery fall sunlight.
