"No, but I knew they hadn't cau – " Ioan started to argue, until he realized just what he was about to say. His eyes widened and then closed quickly. He knew the Ministry hadn't caught Bole; had kept watch in the papers all summer long, waiting for the moment he'd be free of the man. Turned out he'd unwittingly worn his fear like a noose, only to have it yanked tight again. Ioan didn't want to dwell or wallow, but just like Azkaban, there was no escape. If Bole wanted to find him, he could. Wards hadn't kept him out of Hogwarts. They wouldn't keep him out of the hospital wing. Which meant Ioan needed to learn to pretend he was all right and fast, since people seemed keen on visiting him.
He felt tired suddenly.
