Who: Rose and Benjy
What: hanging out and things
When: Tuesday, later evening, after Face time with Jimmy
Where: Benjy's apartment
Rating: Low
Though it had been incredibly refreshing to talk to Jimmy, to see his face, she still couldn't quell the ache in her heart at how much she missed him. Of course, she wanted him to finish school. He needed to! She didn't want this to ruin his education, it was still important. But at the same time, it was hard. She just wanted to go to bed to him, and wake up to him, and Jimmy to be there for every moment and see his daughter grow. But it was only temporary, and she had to keep reminding herself of that. The thought alone kept her going, her head above water, a smile on her face for her tiny baby girl.
At just over two months old, Rose truly couldn't believe how much Ava had grown though. She sort of drooled all over everything, which was a bit messy, but she was trying to master the art of rolling over, and that just killed Rose at how fucking adorable it was. Her sleeping patterns were a little better to, allowing for longer hours of uninterrupted sleep during the night, which was always nice, but fuck did she wake up ravenous. Thankfully though, no teeth yet. Rose hoped that wouldn't happen for a while. Everything was already too tender...
As she was reminded that moment as she nursed her daughter, chair facing out the window of the living room as she watched the sun set. So far, she was still alone, and finding out that her daughter liked listening to her sing as much as Rose liked to do it, she couldn't help but belt out a little tune to pass the time.
"I glimpsed a bat with butterfly wings
Oh what marvelous things
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
Dark nights hold tight and sleep tight my baby
Morning light shall burst bright and keep us here safely
I followed a rabbit through rows of mermaids entwined shrubbery
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh what marvelous things."
