MINISTER FOR MAGIC RESIGNS
By A.J. Pincer
Britain's embattled Minister for Magic, Kingsley Shacklbolt, has announced his resignation today, stepping aside from his office amid mounting public outrage and protests in the Ministry of Magic over the handling of the Squib Virus.
What was planned as a mass protest in Diagon Alley on Sunday evening turned to muted satisfaction as demonstrators vented their anger following revelations that another student has been killed at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
“Of course we’re happy the Minister has stepped down. But we won't be satisfied until we know who is taking over from him,” One witch told The Daily Prophet, "The Wizengamot have proven insufficient at selecting suitable candidates. Just look at what happened with Fudge!"
As of yet no one has been approached with an offer to replace the Minister, but there has been speculation that the Wizengamot may select a Muggleborn wizard purely to attempt to curry favour with the masses after the events of the war.
