Daphne took a few moments while the food was placed before them and their drinks refilled, again, to compose herself. This was their life. She wasn't sure how Stephen was so calm and collected about it, but, there it was. When the waiter stepped back, her smile had returned and she could see her mother give her an approving look. She was doing as good as could be expected.
"Well, we had a horse when I was a child. I do not remember what happened to it though." She have a little shrug. "My mother claims to be allergic to animals. I think she just doesn't want them around. So. We've never had one." It never seemed like a terrible thing to Daphne. It wasn't like her life was any less complete without a dog to sleep by her side at night. "I think I could... grow... to like an animal?"
