Today we close out the story portion of the fest with our last two entries. Thank you to all of our extremely talented authors and characters. You made this awesome fest what it is!
Before the big reveal on Friday, we have a number of closing activities for everyone.
Tuesday, July 17: Did you recognize someone's style? Her cadence or a particular turn of phrase? Today's the day for you: match the author to the story.
Wednesday, July 18: Voting begins for five awards, including best character, best story pimping, and most creative use of a prompt or kink. Voting will go through Thursday night.
Thursday, July 19: A last hurrah for all of our characters. Come join the party and chat with your favorite characters!
Friday, July 20: The Big Reveal and awards.

sansa1970 and I were up until the wee hours counting, calculating, and tallying all of your votes (and trust us, there were a LOT of them). At times, it was maddening how close the votes were. However the voters have spoken, and the posting order for the first ten stories has been chosen.
To all of our fantastic authors, the voting really was close. You all have done an incredible job and we’re thrilled by your creativity, your sincere efforts and your brilliant writing.

Posting begins tomorrow, June 24. The first ten stories will be posted daily. The remaining stories will be posted twice a day, morning and evening, based on random selection (though there was a small effort to spread out the longer stories). Please don't forget to comment on all of these amazing stories. The authors have worked doubly hard to not only produce quality stories but to advertise them creatively.

As a reminder, the fest’s final week of pimping starts tomorrow. The fest participants deserve a huge round of applause for the amazing job they’ve done of teasing and tantalizing us with their stories! The mods couldn’t be more pleased.
Once pimping is over, it’s time to vote for your favorite story! We’ve prepared a short list of Voting FAQs to make the process painless and fun.

When does voting begin?
Voting begins on Tuesday morning, June 19, Eastern Standard Time.
When does voting end?
Voting ends at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, Friday, June 22. That’s four days to vote for the fics you want to read first.
Geez! Why such a short time to vote?
Because posting begins on Sunday, June 24. That gives the mods a day to count all of the votes, prepare a posting order and let each participant know his or her posting date.
Okay, okay, but this better be easy! How are we going to vote?
Through clever devising on the part of the mods, you will have the opportunity to rank up to ten stories. In slot one of your ballot goes the first story you want to read, and so on. Two caveats: you can only vote for a particular story once. Further, you can only submit one overall ballot.
Do I have to vote for ten stories?
Nope. You can vote for only one, if you want. But make your vote count—you don’t get to come back and vote nine more times.
I’m a participant, can I vote for myself?
Absolutely.
Do I vote for the name of the story or the author?
Author, please. Not all authors have gifted us with the titles of their bewitching fics!
How can I possibly remember which story belongs to which author?
That’s where tagging comes into play. The pimping posts are cross-indexed by author name *and* by pimping week. That nifty column to the right should help you find everything you’re looking for.
Why is this voting business so important?
Apart from the preservation of the democratic process, voting in this fest determines posting order. Further, the top ten ics will each have their own posting days with no other fics posted that day. Thereafter, fics will be posted twice a day.
Eep! I'm a participant and I don't want anyone to know if I got the fewest votes. How is this going to work?
We plan to use the voting method to determine the top ten stories, depending on how the voting plays out. The posting order for all other stories will be determined by a super-scientific randomizing process involving a great big cup, slips of paper, and a blindfold. (ooh! Kinky!)
Do we get to see how many votes a story gets?
No, sorry. The voting will be completely anonymous and results will not be revealed publically.
I’m a participant. What if want to know how many votes my fic got?
Email the mods and we’ll provide that information to you privately.
Will you publish the posting order beforehand?
Most likely, no. But we might change our minds about that. : )

A gentle reminder that stories are due in 12 days.
YOU will be posting your own fics (unless they are too long to fit in one LJ post, in which case we will host them on our website and link back to LJ). We do, however, require that a finished, beta'd copy be emailed to the mods by June 17. This is so we can read them ahead of time yay! for voting purposes. If your finished fic is not received by June 17, you will not be eligible for voting. You will not be given a spot in the posting order until it is received. Late fics will be accepted until July 18th.
The header format for fics will be posted in a few days.

Hi everyone! First, we can't tell you how thrilled we are with the pimping posts. They actually brought tears to my eyes, because it was so thrilling to see all of you having so much fun with this, especially given the "unpleasantness."
Speaking of the unpleasantness, sansa1970 and I have put our heads together and for those of you with pimping dates today or tomorrow who haven't posted or are reluctant to post because of all of the LJ traffic on the journal/community deletions, you may post over the weekend (there are no assigned pimping dates for weekends). We'll play Friday by ear, but we think Friday will go forward as planned.
Thank you for hanging in there. Thank you for participating. Thank you for wonderful stories. We can't wait!
