BASICS: Name: Johnathon Miller Title: The Cop Age: 40 Birthday: June 7 Class: Professionals Residence: Tradewinds Apartments Sexuality: Gay (but thinks he’s straight) Played By: Harrison Ford
APPEARANCE
Once upon a time John had gorgeous brown hair, but these days it’s greying at a rapid pace. John is not the type of man who pays attention to the way he looks. In particular: his hair. He will never understand why some men will sit in front of the mirror for hours and primp, putting on gel and whatever-you-want-to-call-it. His hair is kept very short, though other than that, if you asked him what his hair style is he’d give you a blank stare.
John is around six feet tall, give or take a few inches. He’s muscular from being in law enforcement so long. Necessity made it so he had to keep in shape, especially when his job is so prone to getting him in fights. Slowly his body is starting to deteriorate from age, but you can tell he still packs a mean punch. He also has the kind of tan that occurs naturally from just walking around outside, not the kind you get from a tanning bed. He’s not a deep brown or anything, he just hasn’t really learned the value of a good sunscreen.
When he was younger, John used to smoke quite a bit. As a result, these days he has a wicked smoker’s cough. It can be quite awkward for others who are talking to him when he breaks out into one of his ten minute coughs. Thankfully, John hasn’t smoked for a few years, so hopefully the cough will lessen up.
You’ll never see John in a pair of shorts. He despises them. He doesn’t own a pair of pyjamas as he prefers to sleep naked. When he’s with someone and it would be better to not get naked, he just sleeps in his clothes. Usually he’s seen in a casual suit or something of the like. He’s not really big into wearing jeans unless he’s at home and it’s really casual.
BACKGROUND
John grew up around here and as such knows this place like the back of his hand. He’s quite familiar with all who live here, especially the trouble makers. John has surprisingly little money for someone in his line of work. He doesn’t have the best spending habits, and he has wracked up a few minor debts from poker on more than one occasion. And while he’s not dirt poor or anything, he doesn’t really find he has anything to really spend his money on, so it all just goes in the bank. He doesn’t pay much attention to what’s in the bank account as it’s really just for saving money, so who knows what’s in there.
John is woefully single and has been for quite awhile. It seems as though he’s really given up on dating, and hasn’t seen anyone in the past 4 years. He was married at 25 to a beautiful girl, and when he was 32, seven years later, they divorced. John still loves her, in a way, but it wasn’t meant to be. It was great while it lasted, but John never has thoughts about getting back together. There was too much heartache and drama towards the end. They really never should’ve gotten married in the first place. Luckily, they had no kids. John is still good friends with his ex-wife though, and spends a lot of time with her. While he’s not drowning in a large entourage, he has a few friends from work and some acquaintances among some of the not-so-good people on the street.
OCCUPATION
John has been a detective for 19 years, making him quite respected where he works. It also makes him quite infamous for those involved in crime. John’s whole life revolves around his job. He doesn’t really have much outside it, except for his dog. He’s rarely at home, and when he is home, he’s usually sleeping. John just doesn’t see the point of being home if no one else is there.
PERSONALITY
What John wants (but would never admit) is to have someone to come home to. He’s really lonely, though even he doesn’t realize it. His job does keep his mind off it, but every once in awhile he’ll wonder what it would be like to come home to supper on the table.
Now, if you ever ask him about this, he will vehemently deny it. But, John has a baby blanket that he hides in a chest at the foot of his bed. Every night when he goes to sleep he gets out the blanket and sleeps with it cuddled up to his chest. It makes him feel comforted. With his baby blanket close to his chest, and his golden retriever lying against his back, John feels more at home than ever.
John doesn’t give his heart away often, but when he does, look out. He’s loyal and trustworthy and affectionate. He loves very strongly. As such, he can be hurt very deeply by someone he’s become attached to. He’ll fight to the death to keep them and has a hard time admitting when things are over. He doesn’t know when to quit and can sometimes take things too far. John hides his feelings often and is afraid to show them, but when feeling broken or betrayed by someone he truly cares for he will often break down, even in the sight of others.
John doesn’t generally see the good in all situations. His line of work tends to take away the silver lining type of outlook. When not working John likes to have alone time and doesn’t spend a lot of time socializing. John is very good at his job, and he likes it too. He gets a good feeling from putting away all those criminals. It gives him a sense of accomplishment.
He’s not really good with people and often suffers when it comes to conversation. He’s not really the most charismatic person in the world. Unless, he really wants something done, then he can be very charismatic. All he does is brandish his pistol and suddenly everyone does what he asks! How’s that for charisma?
At the ripe age of forty, John is starting to regret not settling down with someone. Now he feels it’s all a bit hopeless and that he’s doomed to die alone. This makes him want to spend more time with his ex-wife. Despite the fact that things didn’t work out, they still share a bond, and John finds himself needing some kind of companionship.
