Bill had thought he would have had more time with him.

The first three nights after Harry died, drunk on way too many Margaritas, Bill took sleazy dark-haired, green-eyed waiters to his cheap rented room.

When Fleur finally found him, he was singing Karaoke in a filthy Muggle bar called The Gypsy Blues in Chelsea. She didn’t ask him where he’d been or what he’d been doing. She just told him he couldn’t bring this waiter home.

He’s never told her but she’s always known he was in love with Harry, not her.

Bill has always talked in his sleep.

“Here goes nothing.” Neville lifted the glass in an imaginary toast, then brought the rim to his lips and took a generous swallow.

Hannah leaned forward anxiously. “Well?”

As strong a jolt as the lime and tequila gave Neville, who was unused to anything stronger than butterbeer, they were no match for the sudden realization how blue her eyes were. And that hair, spilling down her shoulders… “Brilliant,” he managed.

“Oh, thank Merlin.” She smiled, relieved. “I hope Tom likes it as much as you.”

Unconsciously, Neville licked some salt from the corner of his mouth. “He’d better not.”
