King of Diamonds:
The letter is a sign of good tidings; when near, and when touching, indicates unexpected good fortune.

It takes several hours of digging, but Remus finally finds his old translated copy of Homo Homini Lupus tucked away in Sirius' old bedroom, of all places. There's something niggling the back of his mind and he's determined to refresh his memory.

Chapter Six
Mating Habits of Werewolves

While it is true that werewolves mate for life, many, particularly those that are turned young, will not do so for twenty to forty years after their turning. This is not to say they will remain celibate until then, though. Werewolves, most particularly the males, will often have very high sex drives.  It's not uncommon for them to have a large number of sexual encounters, particularly those that go through puberty as werewolves.

A werewolf can meet several potential mates throughout their life, but they will only mark one as their true mate. When werewolves finds a potential mate, they will often take the submissive role during sexual encounters, as a way to further entice said mate. It’s very rare for a male werewolf to take an alpha role in any relationship, whether it's with a man or a woman, and rarer still for a female werewolf to be dominant.

Remus sits back, taking in the words. So, now he has an explanation for why he's so willing to let Harry take the lead, despite their age difference.

"Hey, what're you doing, hiding in here?" Harry asks, poking his head around the door. "Gods, I haven't been in here in a long time."

"Just doing some reading," Remus replies lightly, smiling up at Harry. "Finally allowed out of bed?"

"Yup, though for some reason I have no problem whatsoever staying there, with the right type of company."

Remus laughs and stands up. "Are you trying to give me a subtle hint?"

"Not too subtle, to be honest," Harry retorts, letting a hand slide down his chest. "Come to bed with me?"

"I think I could be persuaded," Remus says, sliding a hand around Harry's waist.

"Good." Harry leans forward and kisses Remus hungrily. "You're so perfect," he whispers, pulling back.

Remus gulps and looks seriously at Harry. "I think I need to tell you something before this goes much further."

"What is it?" Harry asks, pulling back. "It's not anything bad, I hope."

"No, but you might change your mind about all this." Remus hands Harry the book he's still holding, opened to Chapter Six.

Harry takes the book in one hand and Remus' hand in the other and sits on Sirius' bed. He reads it over silently twice before looking up at Remus.  "Does this mean what I think it does?"

"That you and I have the potential to be a great deal more than just friends? Yes, it does."

Harry shivers and looks up at Remus.  "I always thought that you and Tonks..."

"I thought she could be, but it just never happened."

Harry squeezes Remus' hand then brings it up and kisses the back of his knuckles. "I've already told you this is more than just a fling to me. So I'm just gonna follow your lead on this. It'll be whatever you want."

"I... I'm not sure, to be perfectly honest."

"Then shall we continue as we've begun?"

Remus smiles. "Sounds like a plan." He cups Harry's cheek and pulls him in for another long kiss.
