Notes: me and hpsauce are fic prompting each other every day. today's is "remus/?? - roof-sex, looking up at the stars <--is a not-so-closet romantic, obviously (could have arrogant sirius/draco/regulus being all 'look at my star, omg, sooooo pretty' and remus being all 'i have to make them shut up somehow, ah ha!')" this ended up not being romantic. um. hope you like it anyway?
Remus is thrilled to finally go to Sirius' for the summer. First through fifth year either Remus Sirius and Peter went to James' house or Remus Sirius and James went to Peter's house. Remus was always thrilled to leave, barely a day after getting home he'd pack up everything he'd need and take off. He hated being at home, during the first year of Hogwarts his dad had died of Dragon Pox, and his mum blamed everything wrong in her life on magic. It was hard to consider it a home when his mum alternatively begged him not to go back to Hogwarts, and ridiculed all his hard won knowledge. Sirius had to stay at the Black manor for three weeks before he could escape their dislike of what their son has become. Peter or James, whomever it was, would usually come in a month into their summer. They liked being at home and seeing their parents and siblings.
But this summer is different. Somehow Sirius has convinced his parents that the Marauders can come to their home. Remus has no idea how he's pulled it off, Sirius isn't talking. Remus is happy to go and meet his boyfriend's parents but he knows James is wary, which worries him a bit. James is intuitive, knew that Snape going down the secret tunnel was a bad idea. James doesn't think it's a good idea for Remus to go in without reinforcements in case something goes wrong, though he can't say what might go wrong. So instead of leaving as soon as possible Remus has to wait an entire week at home.
They all go at once, Remus apperating to James' whilst Peter does the same. Then it's a simple matter of calling 12 Grimmauld Place into the floo, and walking through the green flame.
It's when he finally gets inside Grimmauld Place that he realises James might be on to something. The whole house has an air of misery. It makes Remus want to cuddle Sirius, keep him safe from the walls, but that would be an extremely bad idea as they don't know Sirius is queer. Mrs and Mr Black are standing in front of the fireplace, waiting with a posture that seems somehow menacing. Mr Black has his hands on Regulus' shoulders, and Remus can't help the vulture metaphors that run through his head. Mrs Black is holding down Sirius in the same way.
Remus is frozen, partially wanting to back up until he's in the floo and can go to James' home where Mrs Potter bakes four different batches of cookies at a time because all the marauders like something different. He can hear James swallowing, adam's apple flickering as he tries to work up the bravado to approach such an miserly family. In the end it's Peter that saves them all.
"Hello. I'm Peter Pettigrew, best at Charms. James Potter, best at Potions, and Remus Lupin, best at Defence against the Dark arts. Thank you for inviting us into your home."
Remus can feel Mr Black sneering at him. He's not sure if it's the education, or his scarred face, but there's something about Remus that isn't proper enough. James steps forward to shake hands with each member of Sirius family, and with a inward sigh Remus does the same. Mr Black wipes his hand on his robe when he steps back from Remus, though surreptitiously enough that Remus probably isn't supposed to notice.
Three days later and Remus is in awe of his boyfriend. To actually manage this house and it's occupants ten years without having it break his spirit is amazing. Mr and Mrs Black ignore Peter, and that's the best reaction they get. James is told that he could be a strong pureblood for their side, if only he stopped being so energetic. And every time they notice Remus it's to avoid something he's touched. Remus doesn't get it for awhile, even if they were that ignorant about contagion, how could they know he was a werewolf? Then Sirius explains it.
"I'm sorry, it wasn't me that told them you were a half blood. My git brother Regulus did, before the three of you arrived. You know, it's weird. I think he's surprised at how little he hates you. He hears things from the other Slytherins, my parents, Gryffindor are slime and lesser blooded people are scum. But now that he's seen the three of you, I think he's getting smarter."
It's so Sirius, condemning and condoning his brother at the same time. Like Remus wants to save Sirius, Sirius wants to save Regulus. They all know a war is gearing up, and Sirius knows what side Regulus will be on if something doesn't change soon.
For all that scoffs, Remus thinks it might be true when halfway through the summer James get his hands on enough Firewhiskey to drop an Erumpent. Remus Sirius Peter and James are all drinking in James' room, one of the rooms that's always empty and covered in dust according to Sirius. Sirius hates the idea of a large house, thinks it's a waste to have nine bedrooms for most of the year just his parents. As he's continuing to rant, there's a knock at the door. Remus, who's the most sober as he's got a slow and steady form of drinking as compared to Peter and James playing rounds of shot for shot, stands on mostly balanced legs and opens the door.
"Can I join?" the words sound oddly out of place in Regulus' lips. He pulls his hair, just a inch longer then his chin, behind his ears.
"You do know who you're asking to hang out with?"
"At least you're not house elves. That's what I get every summer, normally." Regulus' voice is cool, but somehow wanting underneath the facade. Remus lets him in the room and picks up one of the pre-poured shot glasses of amber liquid.
"Have at it." He says, offering the teen the glass. Sure Regulus is underage, but they are too.
The chatters flows ridiculously, each phrase utterly hilarious then forgotten as the next drop of alcohol touches their tongues. James and Peter continue, gagging on each shot of the rancid alcohol, but determined to get as drunk as they can as quickly as they can. Sirius and Remus drink at a more sedate pace, as Regulus sets his own standard. Eventually James and Peter pass out, half sitting on the floor, half lying.
"We should go look at the stars!" Sirius exclaims. He and Regulus are on their feet, rushing out the door without so much as asking Remus if he thinks it's a good idea. It's irritating that he would have to explain to his boyfriend that a werewolf doesn't like being reminded of the night sky. Still, he doesn't want to stay with James and Peter. He'd be completely screwed if Mr or Mrs Black came in, he'd have to explain it all.
Steadying himself, he grabs a bottle before he follows them out of the room onto the roof. It has three telescopes stationed pointing up, but Sirius and Regulus are lying back on the shingles.
"There I am," Regulus says, pointing out with his wand and drawing the shape of a cat. Sirius points out himself, and Moony drinks straight from the bottle as they continue to talk. The alcohol is warm in his stomach, warms up his limbs and his brain. Everything feels cozy.
One of them says something about going to the loo and Remus hears them walking back into the attic. By then Remus has his eyes closed and his back resting against the shingles. He hears more feet, then warm breath against his face. Sirius kisses him, Remus grabs his boyfriend's face and jabs his tongue in his mouth. Sirius groans against him, and it doesn't take more then a minute for Remus to get hard. As his boyfriend gets the sensitive part on his neck Remus moans "Oh, Sirius."
Sirius pulls away, sitting on Remus' knees. Remus asks, belated concerned "Your brother can come back any time now."
"No, he'll be in the loo awhile. The third floor toilet won't flush unless you tell it a joke. Mother hates it, but she won't remove it as a legacy of Great Uncle Lenous. Sirius leans forward, one arm around Remus' back to pull him closer, the other trying to fumble with the wizard robes they have to wear every day at Grimmauld Place. At James or Peter's homes they could wear whatever, but Sirius had informed them they had to look like wizards if they wanted to come, and it had been a small price to pay. Remus tries to lick all the whiskey off Sirius' tongue, as the hand begins to stroke him roughly he starts to moan.
"Hey! WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?" Remus' eyes jolt open to see what is unmistakably Sirius coming through the attic door. He's wearing a Gryffindor coloured knitted sweater to protect himself from the cool wind. Which means...
"He wanted me to, he liked it. He said your name. I knew you were poofs!" Regulus has staggered back from Remus, he's against the edge of the roof with nowhere to go. Sirius stalks towards him, furious.
"Let's see if you like being kissed without being asked!" Sirius growls.
Sirius grabs Regulus by the arms and starts snogging him. It looks like a cruel kiss, full of teeth and tongue. Regulus struggles but he's too weak to push Sirius away and he can't back up because he's at the edge. Watching them through drunken eyes, all Remus can think is how hot they are. He dives his hand in his robes and makes the same rhythm with his hand that Regulus had been.
Sirius breaks away, Breathing heavy, he turns to Remus. Remus blushes but he can't stop wanking, alcohol completely killing his inhibitions. "What are you doing?"
"Oh Gods, " Remus moans, hand jerking fast, "keep kissing. I won't ever tell, just don't stop."
Sirius seems stunned, on the verge of disgust. Regulus pushes Sirius aside and comes nearer Remus. "Ohhh, Sirius, turns out your perfect fantastic Gryffindor brother is a kinky little freak. And I like it, but I bet you're scared, aren't you? Gryffindor claims the brave, yeah right-"
He gets cut off as Sirius surges against him to resume snogging. Sirius tips Regulus off balance and they fall to the shingles with a thud. Regulus struggles to get his older, larger brother off him, but it's futile. Sirius scrambles at Regulus' side, manages to get his hand through the side slit and onto his brother's cock. Smashed, Remus crawls forward and starts to suck a huge love bite on the side of Regulus' neck. He continues stroking himself, steady with a twist at the head.
Regulus is moaning but it's Remus that comes first, drink making him a bad lover. His come drips off his hand as he joins Sirius on his brother, Remus fingers playing with the younger man's perineum. Remus presses hard where he knows it counts, Regulus' back arches and he stutters out a groan.
Sirius pulls his hand from Regulus' robe and curls his fingers into a fist. Remus leans forward and licks Sirius' bumpy knuckles, slurping at the come like a child at a lolly. Turning his head he runs his tongue along Sirius' lips. They part and let him in, and Remus lets the taste of his brother onto Sirius' tongue.
Regulus finally stands, breathing relatively normal. He rushes to the attic door and slams it closed behind him.
"This... might not be good," Sirius mutters. Remus picks up the glass bottle with dregs of alcohol and backwash in it, and slings his arm around Sirius' waist. When they get to the guest wing against Sirius' token protests Remus climbs in with him. If Regulus knows then all Slytherins will soon know, and there's no sense in trying to hide more. James and Peter already know and don't care, and who else matters?
The next morning Sirius and Remus enter the kitchen together. Mrs and Mr Black, James and Peter and Regulus are all sitting, quietly eating or waiting for Kreacher to come bring their food. When they're a foot in the kitchen Mrs Black starts throwing toast at Sirius from the pile on the heat radiating plate.
"You filthy, disgusting pervert child. It wasn't enough that you besmirch the Black name and pride by being a filthy Gryffindor. You molest your brother-" James gasps quietly and Remus shakes his head at him minutely. He wishes he could explain, that James won't have time to let the idea fester in head, but Sirius and Mrs Black and Regulus are having it out and Remus can't talk.
"Oh yeah? And did he tell you that he enjoyed it? That he came?" Sirius shouts. Mrs Black holds out her wand and screams a phrase Remus has never heard; there's the sound of a crack and Sirius takes a step back with recoil. His cheek is pink, and Remus is shocked that Sirius' mum has used magic to slap him.
It's intensely unfair, as students they can't fight back as she shoots spell after spell at Sirius. James mutters "I'm still half packed, I'll get my and Peter's stuff together. Moony, go pack all your clothes, Peter, go get anything you think Sirius might need. Be as fast as you can, remember we can buy him a copy of anything he needs for school, it's just the irreplaceables you need to get."
Remus feels like a bit of a coward for leaving the kitchen with Sirius being the victim of his mother, but James is right, they need to get out. James had been right a month ago, saying something might go wrong. He runs to his room and crams everything he needs into his trunk. It doesn't matter if book edges get crumpled, he can spell them later to go flat. He shrinks it and runs to Sirius' room, where Peter is desperately trying to analyze everything in it for importance. Remus unlocks the demiguise suitcase by feel, Peter would never have guessed the invisible thing was there. He dumps the muggle clothing into the trunk, as well as a picture of Regulus, just in case some day he stops hating him.
When they get back to the kitchen, James is already there. The second he spies Remus and Peter out of the corner of his eye, he walks forward and grabs Sirius. His cheeks are bright red like Mrs Black has been slapping him the whole time. He's got a black eye and a split lip, not to mention several cuts. But Remus is willing to bet Mrs Black never once touched Sirius.
"We're leaving. Now." James drags Sirius to the floo and throws in the green powder while calling his address in Kent. Peter walks up to Mrs Black and calls her a vicious bitch, which is a bit of a surprise to hear out of the lips of the most polite man Remus knows.
All Remus does is shake his head at Regulus. He knows one day the teen will want to be brothers with Sirius again, but it may be too late.
