RJL here. I'm finally over the stupid moon time, feeling fit again.
I was able to finally go to the library without James or Sirius commenting -- they HATE the library. They hardly ever study and usually only when I force them. Peter would come automatically; he seems to want to be around one of us at all times, except that when it comes to Quidditch, the three of them are quite game mad, which was to my benefit today as they had the first of Quidditch tryouts and I had the day to myself.
I like Quidditch well enough, but not like those three do. They're absolutely batty for it, but that's good because I can study, or in this case, research, without them eyeballing my every move.
Lily Evans was there, though, but she's a good sort. She minds her own business. She's also very kind and understanding and has friends in every house. She even has a Slytherin friend, although some in our house (like James and Sirius) give her a very difficult time over it. She's says it's only because he lives near her that she knows him, Lancashire I think. They both have a touch of that wary Northern manner, but Snape more so than Lily. Not that it matters, but Severus Snape really is the last person I'd have pegged as being her friend.
He is the opposite of Lily Evans in every way. She's red-headed and he's got heavy, black hair. She's got pretty green eyes and his eyes are like lumps of coal. She's golden from the sun and Snape looks like something that crawled up from the sewers of London -- kind of pale and clay-like and even when he gets sun he looks a bit liverish. He seems to eat well enough, but he honestly looks so jaundiced at the start of each year that I've seen him sent to Madam Pomfrey for health tonic. I always seem to be there, usually recovering from my moon time and I've seen him at least three years now at the start of term sent by one of the prefects in his house.
Madam Pomfrey usually gives him a bit of Pepper-Up and tells him to eat more vegetables and get plenty of rest. I rather feel sorry for him; he seems such a scrawny and ill-kempt specimen. I can tell he's poor, like me, but he tries to bluff and bluster his way through life. I'm less bluff and bluster and more the disengage and discuss sort. Naturally, he thinks we're loathsome enemies, particularly since I hang about with James and Sirius, who really do choose terrible ways to tease and torment him.
I'm writing about Severus, though, because he was at the library, sitting near Lily, but she was doing her Astronomy homework, and he had his big, hooked nose in a book. He'd look over at her from time to time and I was startled to think he might be sweet on her, but then he's a 15 year old boy and most of the boys are sweet on Lily, even bent ones like me.
Trouble was, I had to look at the books in the section he was in, which was about Herbology, and I didn't want to wait, so I went past him. He slammed his book shut, glared at me, and hurried away. Was he mad at me? I hadn't done anything. Then again, Sirius had hexed his hair red and gold three days before so he might have been angry at all Gryffindors. Well, obviously except for Lily.
Unfortunately, I didn't find any helpful book, but I did see Severus sneaking into the Restricted Section! I hid behind a stack and watched and he put the book he had back on the shelf and hurried out. Thinking I might find something to help in there, I levitated the book I had to the frame of the doorway and kept it from closing shut, then snuck into the Restricted Section myself.
The book Snape had been reading: Greek Art & Homosexual Imagery.
That's why he kept staring at Lily and glared at me -- he didn't want anyone finding out, not so's I blame him, but Snape was looking at queer art!
I grabbed it and hid in a deep stack and took a peek.
I saw a bongo mag, once, as my father calls them, last summer. Someone had left it by a rubbish bin and my father picked it up and told me that they exploit people who can't get any other kind of work. This frightened me as I could tell he was afraid, afraid I might end up in one of those magazines.
These pictures are nothing like the ones in that magazine. They are beautiful, sensual and erotic.
Soldiers with swords and erections held high. Teen boys walking alongside their beloved warrior, naked as the day they were born. There is love poetry of the sort I've never read, next to images of beautiful naked young men, sometimes with erections, almost all laughing and enjoying themselves.
It showed me that such love is not wrong, how could it be? It is beautiful and natural and the boys are just like me, my age and so gorgeous. I envied them, able to be bent without fear.
I couldn't help it, but I got hard as a stone and had to have it off then and there. I pulled myself from my trousers and before I could even stroke myself I spunked against the wall at the end of the stack. It was intense, so intense I didn't even go soft. I put myself away as best I could and used my wand to clean the wall. Then I wondered if Snape had done the same thing and nearly came again.
I shrunk the book to fit in my pocket, and began to leave, but Madam Pince caught me exiting the room and I had to hurry out as she yelled at me.
So I didn't find anything to help my other problem, but I did make a discovery -- it's possible that Severus Snape is bent.
Well, that would make two of us at Hogwarts.
