The Marking

Neville blinked as the door to his flat bowed in under Remus's spell. Shocked that the man had actually attacked his domicile, he drew his wand and aimed it at the door just when the second shockwave shattered his wards and the door.

Remus stood in the opened entryway, particles of wood and dust floating all around him and glared at Neville. Bill looked out from behind him, shaking his head and muttering. "Oh, bloody hell, you've done it now, Moony."

"I asked politely first," Remus snarled and stomped into the flat. He glanced around, taking in the mess he'd made along with the empty takeaway containers stacked here and there. He looked at up Neville, eyeing the day's worth of scruffy stubble on his cheeks, his bare chest and feet sticking out the bottom of his wrinkled pyjama bottoms then shook his head. "I'm home, dear, and you look like shit. Not something I like to come home to, pet."

Neville narrowed his eyes. "Get out of my flat before I toss you out the window and let the Aurors clean up the mess."

Remus arched a brow and grinned, waving his wand at Neville. "Oh, please do try it as the Head Auror sent me here, my godson, you know. After all the noise I made, plus the little traps you set, I'm fairly certain half the Ministry already knows we're here. Someone should already be on their way to hush things up a bit."

Neville's face turned red and he pointed his wand at Remus. "Shove off, Remus! My wards here were approved by the Head Auror, my best mate, you know, so I don't think I'll be the one fined for Misuse of Magic. Now, bugger off, both of you!"

Bill stared at them as if they'd gone mad. "Um… if I may try to add a bit of sanity…"

"Shut it, Bill!" Neville and Remus shouted at him, neither man taking their eyes off one another as they did so.

"Yes, of course, I'd forgotten. Pack order. Masculine display of 'I've got bigger bollocks than you' is necessary now." Bill rolled his eyes at them and waved his hand at the sofa. "I'll just wait over here until the two of you decide which of you wants to top today, yes? Let me know when you're ready to fuck. Try not to kill each other, eh? Blood really does put a damper on sex. Not my cup of tea at all."

Neville and Remus turned to stare at him.

Bill sank down to the dusty sofa, flicking bits of wood off the arm as he settled down and got comfortable. He waggled his fingers at them and crossed one leg over the other. "Do carry on. Beta wolf here, I know my place. Snape should be along with Harry so he can put the two of you back together." He paused. "Oh! That's right, Snape thinks this is a bloody stupid idea and you two are about to fecking prove him right! He could care less about what you do, will just leave your bloody arses on the floor and I mean that literally!" Bill shouted at them. "So go on, have your little 'I've got a bigger dick than you' contest and blast each other to bits. One less werewolf and an incompetent gardener in the world, yes?"

Neville arched a brow. "Bill, this doesn't concern -

Remus growled softly, interrupting Neville. "Bill…"

"No! I've had it."

Bill narrowed his eyes at Remus. "This is giving in to that so-called monster, Remus, and it's not the wolf. It's self doubt. You've been seesawing back and forth with Neville the entire time. Mark him and make him pack if you are going to but don't stand there and expect him to be one of us and know the rules when you've never taken the time to explain them to him. Books can't take the place of experience and guidance. He's not the only one you are confusing with your indecision. Make-up your bloody mind!"

He glanced over at Neville and sized him up as he leaned forward on the sofa. "And you. You can't give up on him, Neville and you can't hide. It doesn't work that way, in pack or real life. Once the wolf sees you as dominant then you have to prove yourself. You must continue as you mean and if you lose, then so be it. You have to accept that and move on. You grow and learn from it. It's not a failure, but, a submission to a greater obstacle that you need help overcoming. And sometimes it's the one submitting that's the stronger of the two."

Bill held up a hand when Neville opened his mouth. "It's about respect and trust, both giving and receiving, and knowing when to turn to the pack leader to be the strong one when you can't. An understanding that he'll be the one to ground you when you think things are too overwhelming." He cut his eyes to Remus. "And in reverse respects, that he'll rely on you when he needs comforting as well."

Remus stared at him, shaking his head. "It's too fast."

Neville nodded. "I pushed too soon."

Bill rolled his eyes and threw up his hands. "And I thought you were Gryffindors." He stood and walked over to them, his eyes focused on them, ignoring the wands held in their hands.

Stepping between them, he reached out and placed a hand on each man's cheek. He rubbed the rough stubble on Neville's face, smiling at him then turned to Remus. Pushing the cloak off Remus's shoulder he moved his shirt aside and ran his fingers over the mass of scar tissue on his shoulder, where Greyback had bitten him.

"If life were a series of smooth paths and roses, then it would be very boring indeed."

Wrapping his arms around both of them, Bill pulled them close to his body, tightening his arms around both of them and squeezing them to him. He bent his head and ran his nose along Remus's neck, nipping gently just under his ear. "It's time now."

"Yes," Remus moaned and clenched his fingers in Bill's jumper, his wand falling from his fingers to the floor. He swallowed and closed his eyes as he sank his teeth in hard on Bill's throat.

Neville sucked in a breath as he watched Bill stiffen then sigh. He wrapped his fingers in Remus's shirt, and ran his hand up Bill's back as they drew apart. Deep imprints of Remus's teeth stood out on Bill's neck as did Bill's lighter ones on Remus's skin.

Guided carefully by Bill's arm, Neville stepped between them and looked up into Remus's eyes. The amber gaze was nearly golden and he swallowed hard then glanced up at Bill. Yellow circles ringed Bill's eyes and Neville blew out a breath and bowed his head for a moment.

Looking back up at them both, Neville nodded. Bill and Remus stepped in closer to him, pressing against Neville. They thrust against him and Neville arched up between them unable to do anything else but ride the sensations of their firm pricks rubbing against him through the clothing. Writhing, Neville dropped his wand and clenched a fist in both men's shirts, both canting forward and pushing back to meet Bill and Remus. "Yes!"

Neville gasped, leaning his head back on Bill's shoulder. He tilted his head to the side and closed his eyes, giving himself over to both of them. "I'm ready," he murmured.

Bill ran his hand soothingly up Neville's side. "Remus's bite will be harder but it won't break the skin. You have to trust him," he whispered then kissed the side of Neville's neck.

Neville opened his eyes and looked at Remus, unclenching his fingers long enough to reach out and touch the network of scars on his shoulder. He met Remus's gaze and held it for a long moment before finally looking down. "I do."

Remus sucked in a breath then groaned as Neville's fingers skated across his skin. He leaned in and pressed his mouth to Neville's, languidly kissing him for a long moment. "Thank you," he murmured as he broke the kiss.

Neville hummed then tensed as Bill's sharp teeth bit down onto his skin.

Remus traced Neville's cheek then his lips. "I've got you, let go."

Neville nodded as Remus leaned in and bit the other side of Neville's neck. He clenched his fists in Remus's shirt once more, gritting his teeth against the pain then opened his mouth and howled as the world greyed out and he slumped between them.
