Hera had been tense for the first few days after Nike had gone missing, especially as her absence stretched out longer and longer. No one was all that worried yet, although that was bound to change as the war continued unabated and she continued to fail to show up.
Talk of the war was all over the palace, and Hera sat on her throne listening to the murmurs, the little eddies in conversation as voices rose and fell. Her ears picked up mention of Troy, and she noted who was speaking, frowning softly, before her attention was caught by another set of voices talking about her husband and his latest conquest. Growling softly under her breath, she paid better attention to that one, making plans for a bit of retribution. As she grew lost in thought, she failed to notice the sound of soft steps approaching her throne.
