Looking for a PSL partner who wants to write threads in journals and is willing to write a female based on the concept below:
He's a good natured, pop culture fanatical nobody. Intelligent, but seemingly unmotivated, he's a college dropout who has worked an unremarkable retail job for years, fully aware that he can do so much more with his life, yet never actually able to do anything that would allow him to advance personally or professionally.
As it turns out, he was born with the ability to traverse realities, with his body reacting to the norms of any given reality and adapting accordingly, albeit randomly. He's not the only one with that ability. A group of such individuals have formed a team and have recruited and trained others with that same ability, functioning as agents who help fix anomalies across the multitudes of realities. Some take to the task better than others.
He'd fill the "reluctant hero" archetype, someone plucked from obscurity, thrown into a situation far beyond his wildest imagination, yet eventually growing in confidence and skill. I envision him as something like an Usagi Tsukino type, minus the crybaby, unintelligent, klutzy and immature stuff, but very much the freaking out when faced with a situation and fighting off the urge to buckle under the weight of the responsibility. The female, ideally, would be a more seasoned agent, around the same age (late 20s would be preferred, bonus points for a K-idol face), helping him adjust to his new normal and helping him embrace his potential. She can be a willing mentor, a reluctant teammate, or whatever works. Eventually, they start to develop feelings for one another.
The basic idea is that there would be a "core" cast of characters, more longstanding NPCs that are tied to their function as agents, along with NPCs that are used while they're in whatever reality they're in at that point. It would allow for consistency in the characters, while also allowing for "soft" resets after every arc has been completed. The concept lends itself well to world building, and while I have some general ideas, with several of the realities that would be used in mind, I am very open to collaborating on the mythology.
If the idea interests you, if you're looking for something to sink your teeth into in the new year with a responsible and collaborative partner, please respond here or at the contact post in the journal.
