oh, and i see they had plenty of hogwarts overlap when they were lads! even better. syl was also a slytherin, graduated in '02, and was a perfectly middling student academically — but excelled when it came to extracurricular pursuits like becoming an animagus, setting up a prosperous quidditch underground betting/match fixing racket, and generally making a nuisance of himself. tbh i'm assuming the only reason he got this professorship was because of sera, so ash taking over temporarily as headmaster could lead to some awkward-veering-antagonistic moments between them? i can't imagine he'll behave very professionally outside the classroom, unless recommended is around to swat him on the ass regularly...
