i described their parents as "a headlining florida man and his equally troublesome wife." if you could hang with them and never bring up their shortcomings, you'd get along great. asking for apologies or explanations would sour them on you fast. life of the party types otherwise. dad had a peddler's license; he bought old bikes and appliances, fixed them up, and resold them at a modest profit. their mom worked at a dry cleaner. i wouldn't doubt they had some shadier dealings, but they didn't bring that life home with them.
the kids grew up in a mobile home park. apart from any potential abandonment issues, they were treated well by the community that raised them. i wouldn't say nic was that big brother who felt inherently responsible for his siblings. he got into sports and other afterschool programs to foster a sense of belonging, then gave up his scholarship to pursue acting. having a late-in-life kid was probably the longest their parents ever stuck close to home. that could have helped to foster a particular fondness between nic and his youngest sibling. or we could go for some form of antagonism. i'm completely open to dynamics of all kinds. all depends on the character you ant to play and what type of development you want to work through.
