so there's two lines that they would work for. the first is a lifelong best friend that she's known since she was little. they grew up wealthy, attended private schools, and were afforded the best things. she was far from cool growing up and was this nerdy overachiever and he was one of the few people who hung out with her. they were constantly at each others places and were (and still are) each others person. whenever she needs someone to talk to, she can always call him and vice-versa. oh and they were each others firsts as well but never actually dated/at this point it would be too weird because they are too important to one another. the second is an ex that she met in boston; he wound up coming back with her to new york post-college and she was never quite sure what his deal was. she couldn't tell if he was only with her because she came from money or if he genuinely loved her but i am thinking she was overly invested and he came off as less so. they wound up breaking up and he quickly moved on (either because he'd been waiting to end things or because he was hurt as well) and they have been fairly awkward ever since. i'm thinking there's still some animosity on her end and she is someone who can be confrontational and doesn't always play nice so that could transfer into a fun dynamic.
