excuse the c&p buut: sho sort of built a career in the mumblecore scene and then made a big deal about wanting to do things on her own, leaving new york to write and make lady bird. she leans into hyperbole and self-deprecating humor as a way of creating distance with people because she's not super comfortable letting people very close. she's outspoken on all things women in film, also does a lot of yelling about it. surprisingly well-read and kind of a nerd at heart.
