i'd love to someone bring a spin on the square jawed, all american, iconic hero who's really completely exasperated with how his public image has been reduced to a pop culture element. how his messaging and good works have been boiled down to soundbites and media clips, taking him from being someone who could change minds and make a palpable difference in the world to something people try to hunt down and get a selfie with.
for the line, these two would have been going back and forth since their early days as villain and hero. he convinced her to go legit-- only she didn't so much become good as she did find a socially acceptable outlet for her personal brand of justice, which is not what he meant, mallory. there could be a romantic/on-off-again element to it, or just known-one-another-forever bros who want the best for one another but their opinion of "what's best" is wildly inaccurate.
