forgive this giant sort of c/p job, but he grew up in montreal with artsy, hippie dippy parents who always encouraged him to be creative and be himself and what not, so naturally that led to a deep interest in theater because why be yourself when you can pretend to be a million other people? his parents were also super lenient as far as enforcing any kind of real rules go, resulting in him being something of a troublemaker who always wanted to see how far he could take things before facing any consequences, but he's since mellowed out on that front as he's gotten older. he's still very outgoing though and has a try anything once demeanor and is usually friendly to the point of interacting like he's known someone forever. career-wise, he got his big indie break with some of deshaies' films, then got more of a mainstream break by hamming it up on degrassi for a bit and twilight, then chronicle and tasm2 and so forth. he's sort of caleb landry jones, domhnall gleeson-esque though, in that he often gets involved in these big films but hasn't yet had a huge breakthrough of his own, so he's mostly just that guy that you have to imdb because he's been in small roles in too many films you've seen. annnd he does things like use his twitter like he's an ai posting existential questions instead of regularly updating fans with anything useful. his team keeps trying to steer him in the direction of being more accessible? i guess, as he keeps slowly rising, but he's more or less content to just be an eccentric indie weirdo.
