let's go with the nyc connection! maybe their parents are friends and they used to have dinner together when they were kids and both in the area? her father took over running the terelj hotel in mongolia when she was in high school but she still considers new york her original stomping ground so she could always urge him to come and hang out with her when she isn't skateboarding thru the world.
