california went with a paramedic (who may or may not be working yet) and he's undead's older half brother (so anybody he'd know through her). he's been in beachline for a year now and is finally feeling like he's getting settled so a few lines would be great. the neighbor he irritates with being up at odd hours but does handy work for as an apology, a past fling or two or maybe a shorter term ex, his tattoo artist, buddies to be stupid, pal around and get in to minor trouble with, a true bromance

california went a bit of a different way once i actually wrote his bio. a handful of close friends, folks that haunt the same dive bar, other transplants that relocated once they got sick of the rat race (he's from texas, but spent two decades in d.c.), the wealthy people he advises on their philanthropy (or the kids of those people who he may know tangentially), anyone in the exclusive 40+ club, people who follow politics like it's a sport, jaded burnouts, anything you want
