sharpshooters, I'm thinking of bringing in this fellow here as an instructor. He's a former aeronautics engineer and one of the OG mechanics from the start of the ACE program - he worked as a mechanic for about 20 years for a succession of pilots, before he was basically dragged upstairs into a teaching position about 10 years ago. He's also old enough to be born (and have worked) on "Old Earth" before everything got moved into space/Terra.
His teaching style is definitely more practical rather than theory based - trying to pin down what he actually teaches (lol), but at the moment it's "Paladin Maintenance", which focuses on the mechs, how they work and how to keep them running.
While I work on him some more before putting in a hold, I'd love to talk potential plot/lines :)
I was ideally thinking he would have been the former mechanic for Paladin IV, but that can be changed if if there's any conflict with existing timelines?

At the beginning of Year Two, he's a healthy (he claims) balance of disciplined and well-meaning miscreant. IE - a military enlistee straight out of school, he did well in his four years of service on Terra before enrolling in ACE, but may have been suspended for a month last year after palming his brother's hangar security clearance to take someone on a not-exactly-sanctioned space walk. See? Balance! He's ambitious, outgoing and headstrong, pleased to improvise and cut corners (work smart, not hard) where available, but serious about ranking in the top five in his class.
