I am here, because American society has decided that the coming of age of a person has to be as traumatic as possible. I suppose early exposure to close-minded mentality, unpunished harassment and general use of daily torture tactics is one way to prepare kids for the "real world". I am very critical of this structure, yet, changing it is not my battle. I aim for greater things - less mundane tasks. I aim to make the world a better place by placing art in the clothing store shelves - fashion. It has taken a whole new meaning nowadays and nothing incenses me more than people who think it is a shallow, simple world. It is not. Fashion has great societal power of change. Fashion provides the means to change behaviors and the funds to bring awareness to worthy causes. Designing is just the tip of the iceberg. Starving super-models are a misrepresentation of the world we want to provide. But, all that is changing. And, a few years from now, all fashionistas will be taken seriously. Because nothing says you can't look fabulous while you're saving the world.

Today, I saw an elderly man fall in a crosswalk, so I jumped off my bike to help. As I helped him across, the light turned green. At that point I noticed my phone had fallen out of my pocket in the street and was run over by several cars. I then watched across a 6 lane street as someone stole my bike. FML
