layla is a fairly down to earth, keep to herself kind of girl. she grew up in front of cameras and america and that, coupled with feeling like she needed to be a parent to her mother who was enjoying the perks of her daughters job a little too much, made her grow up fairly quickly and made her "retire" to the countryside with her father after one of her tv shows ended. she sort of sees herself as on the edge of the hollywood machine because her best work has often been in TV (until gone girl, eleanor rigby etc) so she is pretty private about her personal life, believes she should be judged on her work alone, but shes extremely nurturing to friends/family/friends she considers family.

they sound extremely similar so i think it's safe to say that they would get along. she'd be so excited and supportive of all of layla's recent success, especially gone girl. here is her c&p: this is all still in the very early planning stages but jocasta grew up right outside of london and was the youngest of 5 children and the only girl of the bunch. so she was very girly growing up but could also hold her own among the boys and wanted nothing more than her brothers to accept her. she started acting on stage and just loved it and somehow convinced her parents to let her try it professionally. she's a girl that isn't afraid to speak her mind around those she is comfortable with but is extremely private and guarded in private because she just doesn't handle her fame well. basically she doesn't think she is worth the time or attention and really just does this for the love of acting. it takes some time for her to warm up to people because she is shy by nature.

	they do sound similar and since they're both from london (or around there) it would be easy to say they knew each other before pride and prejudice even? so they could have been like SCORE WE GET TO WORK TOGETHER and layla would have been very "method" and big sister-like to all of the younger girls. 	her brother is actually the same age layla so it's possibly that her and her brother were friends? but either way, they could have known each other before! since jo is the only girl in her family, she would have loved to have someone in her life who is like an older sister to her.
