Who: Idris, Benjamin, Vanessa, OPEN
What: Extending an ever so gracious offer to the other residents of Pax, Idris puts a small, elite team of desert and oasis dwellers together for a night out of debauchery, incest, and occasional sand storms casual drinks and companionship, courtesy of...well, himself. Hey, he's feeling nice. Roll with it, ladies and gents.
Where: CASKET
When: 10ish P.M., September 26th
Warnings: TBA, but drunken shenanigans and the such are bound to happen, I'm sure.
Notes: Egyptian family reunion? YES, PLEASE. I am all sorts of excited! 8D

Idris had grinned victoriously seeing that a few of his neighbors wanted to go out tonight. More definitely was always merrier. He would've been content to go by himself--it'd have been no skin off his back. From the way CASKET was advertised, Idris had no doubt it'd be an interesting night out regardless if he was alone or not. Finding good conversation was none too hard a thing to do, if you knew how to look for the right people. All it took was the right selection of words, a friendly countenance, and a drink in hand.

Planning on enjoying a few drinks himself while he was out, Idris made certain to call a cab before he went to meet up with the others who had eagerly agreed to his spontaneous idea. He'd clothed himself in a roughly casual manner, wearing a white dress shirt coupled with a simple pair of blue jeans and black Doc Martens to complete the look. He'd ran his fingers through his hair a few times in front of his bedroom mirror, adjusting it slightly, and then scrubbed his hands over his five o'clock shadow before deciding to leave it alone; it worked better for a night time look, and a little scruff never hurt anyone.

Slim black wallet in tow, resting comfortably in his shirt pocket, Idris whistled a simple tune as he rode the elevator down to the ground floor of Pax Letale. The lobby spanned out before him, and he was pleased to see that at least one of his acquaintances was right on time, waiting outside--the cab, as a matter of fact. Now, where were those who had said they'd be here in a precise forty five minutes? He was not irritated, merely impatient to get to CASKET and scope out new prospects.

"You didn't have me waiting for long," Idris had said, grinning at Vanessa when she'd entered the lobby, looking her over with obvious, open appreciation. Strange to see her dressed down in comparison to the few other times he'd seen her. He'd asked if Vanessa would step outside with him, in order to speak to the cabbie and tell the man they'd be ready to leave in a few short moments. The driver had cursed vehemently in Italian, but agreed to wait longer nonetheless; Idris would make up for the wait later by slipping the man an extra set of bills. He was about to remark on Vanessa's appearance when the third member of their party stepped out of Pax, walking promptly in their direction.

Whereas Vanessa and himself were respectively garbed for an almost casual evening out, their neighbor was dressed to the nines right down to her--his--delicately applied make-up. Recalling a forum post from some nights past, Idris remembered the man's name. Funny thing, that; had their situation been different, Idris might not have realized the figure standing in front of them was male, unless by chance it all happened to be only a clever ruse, 'Benjamin' nothing but a masculine nickname. Regardless of the truth, Benjamin held his head high as if there were royal blood coursing through his veins, and he wore the clothes to match. He could call himself whatever he liked.

The cabbie waited impatiently, Vanessa had already gotten into the backseat, and Idris knew he was ready to get going, too. The night was still young and they could handle the small talk while on the way to CASKET. Hell, they were heading out to have some fun, and Idris had seen stranger dressed people in his lifetime.

"We almost left without you," he said with a laugh. "Benjamin, right? I'm Idris." Looking into the car, he gave Vanessa a quick, playful wink. "I'm doing great, and from the looks of it, so are you." He was flirting casually, so as to not upset the balance. Ultimately, he technically would be entering CASKET with not one, but two companions that, admittedly, were not hard on the eyes. It was a simple fact of life, and he looked forward to their arrival at the club. Being around Vanessa still felt natural in the queer sort of way it had before, and even odder was that Idris felt like he was getting the same vibes from Benjamin, whom he had definitely never met before. At least, not to his knowledge. Someone that looked like Benjamin did, well, they'd certainly be remembered more clearly.

Idris nodded towards the open cab door, implying Benjamin should take a seat to Vanessa. He'd then get in the cab himself, and they'd be at CASKET within a matter of minutes, traffic notwithstanding.

"Play nice, because I'm paying for the ride. Don't want our lovely chauffeur to feel snubbed."

Poor Poor Idris traveling with two gorgeous companions, life was rough. As Vanessa looked at Benjamin, admiring his hair and greatly wishing she could get her hands on it and style it fifty million different fun ways. As she sat in the cab, she suddenly felt as if she had met Benjamin before. There it was again, that odd familiarity that she had felt with Idris, Audrey, and then Victor. Now Benjamin could be added to that list, and Vanessa was starting to be a little confused by it all. Like Idris, she was absolutely confident that she hadn't met Benjamin before, but she found herself fighting the urge to talk to him like she would talk to someone she had known for her entire life. "I think we can all play nice in here, especially if you're fronting the bill. Benjamin, I have to say that I absolutely love your hair. I'm a stylist and you really HAVE to let me do your hair one of these days, not cut, but style."

He certainly did feel.. not quite at ease, for with both was the feel of caution. Not danger; taxi or not, had he felt threatened Benjamin would have found or made an excuse to be elsewhere. But there was still the feeling of familiarity (and a certain heightened awareness of the other man's presence that Benjamin was entirely chalking up to biology) that lingered throughout the joking and light flirtation that marked the remainder of the short trip.

On arrival, Benjamin had only to wait a scant few moments before Idris had exited the vehicle and was offering a hand as though Benjamin were the lady he so often appeared to be. Perhaps there needed to be a clearing of the air on that matter; for now, he accepted the offered assistance. Being a gentleman, once he was outside the car Benjamin turned to offer his hand to the last member of their merriment-seeking party.

Vanessa gratefully took Ben's hand as she exited the cab. As they headed into the club, part of her did have to admit, that she was partially jealous of Ben. Here he was, not biologically a woman, and in her opinion he made a much more attractive woman than her. Vanessa didn't often find herself jealous of anyone, she usually turned it around. If she really wanted a woman's dress, she would simply ask where she had gotten it. If it was her makeup she liked, they would often share makeup tips and become fast friends. However tonight Vanessa simply smiled brightly, taking in this new jealousy feeling.

As they entered the club, Vanessa headed to the bar, trying to decide if she would start with a mixed drink or wine. Whatever she ordered first tended to be what she stuck with for the night. She turned to her companions. "What's your usual poison?"

The ride to the club was quick and painless, as was their entrance--though grand indeed the latter was, however small their party. The throng of people inside CASKET thrilled Idris on a base level, the air alive with the hum of conversation and live music, drinks never far from anyone's hand. It was a place where anything could happen, and very well might before the night was finished. There was something unusual about being among such a crowd with his companions, the touch of an almost memory prodding at the corner of Idris' mind as they picked their way through the crowd to order their drinks. Yes, good times for all were to be had, and perhaps also a little surprise to be revealed once the festivities were fully underway...

He vanquished the strange thought as he leaned on the bar counter, flashing Vanessa a grin. There was no time to waste on false, vague memories that had probably found their way into his brain from one of the various late night tv shows he watched. This was no sitcom.

"'Poison's' a bit strong of a word, don't you think?" He looked to the bartender, who waited expectantly for their orders. "I'll take a Black Velvet." Idris shot a glance to his and Vanessa's immaculately garbed acquaintance, giving him a smile, too. "What do you want? Remember, it's on me."

If Benjamin had been wearing something more masculine in the way of footwear, he would have swaggered during their entrance to the club. Something about the company he was in brought out an arrogant side of his personality that he could have sworn wasn't nearly so strong.

Thankfully, the strut he's forced to adopt instead comes off as more confident than cocky, neither of which is unusual for a situation like this. Much as he would prefer otherwise, being a man dressed thus can be a dangerous thing in these times, though perhaps not so much so as in his home state.

Enough time for brooding later, tonight is for taking his mind off his worries. Benjamin's return to the world of other people comes just in time to hear Vanessa and Idris' debate over terminology, one that he joins with a smile just too benevolent to be labeled a smirk.

"Actually she's right. Drunkenness is your body's reaction to a substance it isn't supposed to have." A look of thoughtfulness crosses his features as he ponders the question. "Soda for now I suppose."

Vanessa had been about to say that poison was simply an expression, and Idris really shouldn't take things so very literally, when Ben made sure both of them knew that alcohol actually was harmful for you, and being drunk was in actuality a red flag being shot up from your body, letting you know that it would be wise to stop. "It may be a poison of sorts Ben, but I don't see why that should stop you from drinking it. We're not going to bite any time soon, unless of course that's something you want. Besides, we're all going back to the same place, so it's not like you will be abandoned here any time soon. Also, Idris is buying and it's really considered quite rude to turn down an offer for a first round, right Idris?" Vanessa turned to the bartender and ordered herself a Dewars and water. Part of her had wanted to order some fine scotch, just because she wasn't paying for it, but she also didn't want to take advantage. "My friend over here wants jack in his soda by the way, just a BIT maybe."

The number of helpful informants around him tonight was astounding. Between Vanessa's wealth of knowledge and Ben's piping up, it was all Idris could do to bite back a laugh. And another thing--Ben was clearly of age to be in a bar, and yet he didn't want a free drink? That, too, was astounding. Idris arched a brow, studying the younger man for a moment longer before shrugging and glancing back to Vanessa. That odd feeling he had about the two of them was probably not going to go away any time soon, and so the quickest way to muffle it would be a pleasantly tipsy outlook for the rest of the evening. He wouldn't pass down getting drunk if he didn't have work in the morning. Buzzed or tipsy would have to do.

Nor would he pass down Ben drinking at least something that was slightly alcoholic. He agreed with Vanessa's urging, though the better part of him knew better. If Benjamin didn't like the drink, he technically could always order another.

"Well, don't force it on the guy, Vanessa," he drawled, giving her a pointed look of amusement. "We don't want to end up carrying him to his apartment." As they spoke, the bartender was efficiently putting their drinks together and placing them down in front of the right person. "So, Benjamin, Vanessa--what do you say about finding a table and getting better acquainted?" Idris took his drink from the counter and glanced about the room, spotting a sitting area that was yet free from other patrons. "Come on," Idris said, pausing to lean towards Benjamin slightly, "order something else if you don't like the soda." With a grin, he moved to the plush seats, intending on getting comfortable.
