"That sounds fine to me." She would have agreed to anything at this point. She just wanted to get off of this golf course, sit down somewhere and process all of this. Max had given her a lot to think about. Maybe she'd talk to her parents, see if they knew who the landlord was since they handled her rent. Maybe they could help her figure out what was going on. Telling them would make it more concrete and real and she wasn't sure she wanted that.
Maybe they were just making something out of nothing. That was always a possibility. It was a very slim possibility, but a possibility. If only she could get herself to fully believe that, she'd be set.
"I still don't think you should go," she said quietly as they headed back to the building where they got their equipment. "You almost got caught last time. What will happen if you get caught again?"
