"No, but I think I know what you mean..." He moved to where his lime-green ball waited, and carefully tapped it in for a birdie. Retrieving his ball, he followed Lucy over to the second hole. This one offered a swinging beam over the goal point, every few seconds or so denying access to anyone who didn't time their club's swing correctly. Max could see it being a frustrating obstacle for just a second course.
"Could have seen each other in the lobby - or maybe in the elevator?" But the feeling was different than a simple glance-and-gone; not necessarily like he'd known her his whole life, but had certainly been aware of her. Max frowned, taking up a position to the side to allow Lucy to go first as before. He counted the time between the pendulum swings.
"Looks like ten seconds, so I'd count to ten and then swing; aim for it when the pendulum covers the hole."
