Who: Sheila and Dorian
What: Checking up and meeting.
Where: 307
When: Right after this
Warnings: ....Yeah. We'll see.

A conversation a few days before about neighborliness gave Sheila the slight reminder that she'd not been doing as well. Granted, she knew her own faults. Loyalty and keeping up with those around her was something she wasn't the best at - she moved on and got stuck in her own circle of things. Most people didn't appreciate this though. She tried to compensate for it when she remembered. A glance at the forums was enough to have her inquire after her noisy neighbor - even if she'd never really met him before.

First time for everything.

She grabbed a first aid kit compulsively, before heading down the hall. The door wasn't locked behind her, nor did she bother to change out of her pajamas. Even if she'd been in a nightgown it wouldn't have been a problem, but her capris suited her well enough. Outside of 307 she raised a fist and banged on the door. "DORIAN. IT'S SHEILA. OPEN UP." No need to beat around the bush.

Dorian rolled his eyes. "Cute. It's a little biology, a little botany. It'd be better if I could just show them I knew what I was doing instead of having to write all these countless bullshit essays that don't mean anything. I need answers You know, help. Not a textbook. But NO. No, Dorian, the wine gods, or whoever, would be very disappointed, because apparently you're a fuckup."

"If you break off your sentences, essays would be a problem," she said thoughtfully. She grabbed one of the top books, flipping through it before wrinkling her nose. "What do the wine gods have to do with it? Usually there's one and he's a fun guy. Crazy guy, but meant to be fun."

"I own a vineyard," he said with a sigh. "That's what. And he must be a real riot, what with all the plants dying," he glowered.

The book snapped shut and Sheila grinned. "Really? You must have really pissed Bacchus off then. He'd probably encourage wine growing." She glanced at the book then, before putting it down. "What're you doing here and not there then, if they're dying?"

Dorian was a little puzzled as to what he'd said that caused a reaction like that. It didn't sound like pissing off a god was really anything to grin about at all. "That's what school's for," he explained. "I've...well, we've tried everything, but nothing seems to help."

Any mention of mythology was enough to send Sheila into a chipper mood. Granted, she rarely was in a bad one. There was never a reason to be. She pushed on and ignored those things. "Huh," she said thoughtfully. "Well, a little knowledge can go a long way." She paused, then looked up, utterly serious. "You could try sacrificing something."

"Sacrificing something?" Dorian asked, horror-struck. "Look, that might have been great like a billion years ago or something, but I don't really like the chances that I'd end up in a bad Grindhouse flick. Probably dead."

The term 'Grindhouse' went right over her head. It was unimportant and she didn't really care what it was. She shrugged, letting her arms cross below her chest. "Sacrificing gets you out of trouble. Unless you're someone like...oh, Agamemnon." Another shrug. She didn't expect that name to make sense. "More often than not you benefit from it."

"Until it goes wrong, and you end up dead! You've never seen a horror movie in your life, have you?"

An eyebrow rose. Really, people overreacted. It was just a sacrifice. "And what's wrong with being dead?"

"Lack of music, movies, people, parties...booze," he replied, his hands waving about in earnest. Honestly, what wasn't wrong with being dead? It sounded like a total...downer. "I could keep going."

"Depends on the afterlife you believe in," Sheila said simply. Her arms recrossed and a foot tapped. "And there's reincarnation too, which means the whole cycle just begins again. You could go back or fix things, try for another chance..." She shrugs it off. "Not my preferred belief."
