I swear, I dunno what I did, alright?" The whole sob story act was getting really hard to play- it was all true, but Dov couldn't keep his accent down or the whole soft voice thing either.
"Dude- I really did have the money to go home. Then my car decided to break down in like... the middle of fuckin' Nebraska. Had to pay for that and the shitty overpriced hotel too-- 'cause I've been sleepin' in my car the whole time but I could't really do that if they got it in the shop, ya know?" Dov let one hand slide into his jacket pocket, fingers running over the change he'd managed to bum off the building's tenants that day, then leaned back in his chair with a sigh.
