Dov folded his arms over his chest as he moved over to the sitting area of the lobby, sitting down and taking a deep breath. He was kind of worried that this guy-- Elias?-- was just going to tell him to screw off. After all, he seemed to know Charlotte-- erm, Charlie-- a lot better than he did, and probably ever would. Still, what other options did he have?
"Well, uh, I... Okay, so, this is kinda y'know, personal stuff but uh, whatever, right? Um... Okay. So last night, uh, was actually, uh... My first time meeting Charlie. 'Cause um, she's my sister, but only my half-sister. And uh, I guess me not meeting her before makes this sound like it's like, less of a big deal and stuff, but she's still my sister, right? I wanted to meet her and all. I mean I didn't even know I had a sister. I'm twenty-one, man. My parents never told me anything. But uh... Anyway, so I came from New York 'cause my ma died- well uh, our ma. I found out 'cause I guess she put a whole buncha stuff to Charlie in her will and so I wanted to know who the hell she was, right? And then it turns out she's my sister. Bit of a shock, lemme tell ya."
Dov rubbed his face with his hand, taking a moment's pause before starting again. "Anyway, so I get out there last night and come to talk to her, right? From the friggin' get go I thought she was gonna kill me. I gave her my birth certificate and pictures and stuff and just... waited in the hall. Then I guess she finally believed me and let me in for a little and we talked a bit, but then all of a sudden she just-- just grabs me by my collar and throws me out!" He sighed, looking up at Elias. "I mean I don't expect her to be my best friend or nothin' but c'mon. Plus she's got ma's locket, which yeah, it's legally hers to have, but I don't really like the idea of her havin' it if she doesn't really seem to care."
