Lily set her jaw, her eyes narrowing as she glared at the store clerk. It seemed in that moment that her entire being illuminated itself. From the roots to tips of her hair, her skin, her clothes, her eyes all took on a blinding light. But it was brief, had someone blinked as it happened they wouldn't have seen it, but the clerk did and he stood dumbfounded before Lily.
Lily, however, hadn't exactly caught on to what had happened. A flash of lightning outside? She gave a shake of her head and blinked. It seemed to be clear out, no chance of storms. Still, the man seemed to have lost the fight in him.
Turning away from the man Lily looked at Adam with concern and comfort. "Let's go, Adam. Your name is Adam, right? I'm sorry about the idiot here. He shouldn't have said those things." Her voice rose so that she was once more talking to both Adam and the man.
