Ohhh, he liked that smile. He liked that smile a LOT.
Deciding that she didn't seem to care one way or the other if he put his hands all over her...personal belongings, Shae scooped up the remainder of the fallen tokens and stuffed them back inside her purse. His eyes swept up along the length of her slim, supple legs, and he found himself wishing the hem of her skirt was just a little shorter. Not that her hemline would be much of an issue once the skirt was hiked up around her hips-
He stood abruptly, offering the purse out to her and shifting a bit to the right so that his shadow now blocked her from the headlights. Her features were more difficult to see this way, and he too stepped closer as his eyes gradually adjusted. He could just barely make out the lightly tinted pink dusting her cheeks, and the sight brought a grin of satisfaction to his lips.
"Evangeline, ohriginalleh," he returned, allowing his eyes to openly rove over her body before settling on her face. "Den we up an' move ta New Ohleans. Been a while, 'dough." He held up a finger, gesturing for her to wait as he jogged back over to his car and pulled the keys out of the ignition. The thought of backing out and straightening his car into the space briefly crossed his mind, but he quickly dismissed it; he had priorities, after all.
He returned to his awaiting damsel, though with the headlights now eliminated, she was little more than a darkly outlined figure against the dim trunk light. Her arms were nearly overflowing with books, and he took the liberty of reaching toward her and smoothly snatching them away; his fingertips brushed against the bare skin of her arm in the process, and he felt a tiny spark of electricity shudder along his spine. "I' take care o' dat, dawlin'. Wheah you say you' from, ag'in?"
