In the hall, at a table near the coolers - Kami, Jay
While things had remained relatively small and quiet, Kami really had no complaints about the state of Naea's party. Quiet meant more chances to talk and small meant maximum mingling efficiency. On top of it all, she had not seen her friend smile so much since forever. Naea practically radiated Christmas spirit and joy and, for her part, that was more than enough for Kami. So long as Naea kept smiling like that, it could have been the most poorly attended party ever.
Luckily, though, it wasn't really and she had just taken a moment to retrieve a wine cooler from one of the ice baths in the hall, settling herself in a shaky little chair beside a tiny little table against the wall. Absently, Kami smoothed her full skirt down over her crossed legs. Then she sat up straight for a moment to wriggle out of her little white cardigan. She draped it over the back of her chair with only the slightest hesitation and settled back once more, fanning herself with one hand as the other traced a line in the quickly forming condensation on the side of her bottle. The smile that appeared on her pretty, heart-shaped face radiated contentment and relaxation. This was good.
